The Plot
Welcome to Rocket Rising: A game where you get to play as a member of Team Rocket.
But first... You are in the beginning of your Pokemon Journey, and admittedly, having some trouble. You barely won 2 badges, and just won the Nugget Bridge challenge, when everything you've worked so hard for is stripped from you.
You are left with only one, single Pokemon.
Team Rocket provides Pokemon, and you need Pokemon so... you join up, just for a little while, to get back on your feet.
But all this stealing and cheating gives you an edge. You start winning more often, and against stronger opponents.
You start to think... maybe there's a different path to becoming a Master of Pokemon.
~Active Time Battle: The number of attacks you get are based on speed. This gives faster, but weaker, pokemon a fighting chance against the slower, heavy hitters.
~3 Pokemon per Battle: You can have many Pokemon with you, but only 3 in a battle.
~Skill Usage System: Pokemon can have as many abilities as they can learn, they aren't limited to 4, and they can learn moves either by leveling up or by using their old ones. Thundershock will turn into Thunderbolt when used enough times.
~Recruitment: In certain situations you can recruit people to join Team Rocket. This might involve beating them in a battle, helping them out, or simply talking to them.
~Cheat Items: Throughout the game you can get items that have strong effects on enemies, like instantly poisoning them, draining all their energy, or making your own Pokemon almost invulnerable to damage. These are meant to give you an unfair advantage during tough battles.
~Mutagen: You can get rare items called 'Mutagens'. These mutate your Pokemon and give them a partial secondary type, giving them new moves, new strengths, and a new, sometimes frightening, appearance.
~Things Change: The more dangerous and successful you become, the more the world around you will notice and adjust accordingly.
People will talk to you differently, different areas will become open or closed to you, and you can see areas change over time because of your actions.

So a long, long time ago, when I was playing Pokemon Red for the first time, I beat Nugget Bridge. And I got offered a job at Team Rocket! And I was stoked.
And then became very disappointed when you could not actually give up your 'Pokemon Master' dream to go join a criminal organization.
Eventually, since the desire to play a game like that never went away, I decided to make one of my own. A game where you can break the rules a little. Something that felt a little different from other Pokemon games. I'm using parts of Crystal Noel's 'Pokemon For Ace' for the program RPGMaker Vx Ace.
Right now there's about 10-12 hours of gameplay.

I've made it so that if you go Right out of Celadon, there'll be a lockpick hidden in the furthest right flower.
Hopefully that should fix your lockpick troubles.

Changes
As of .2.5
- Changing some of the sprites so that everyone isn't quite so whitebread.
- A teleporter spot exists in most towns now
- All necessary lab parts can be found in towns where there is a teleporter spot.
- A lab part can be found in Silph, and in Lavender.
- Two new sidequests. One in Celadon, found after Silph, and one in Saffron city.
- Potion should heal 40 now, and Super Potion heals 60.
- Name Rater can be accessed in Lavender.
- There are people able to be recruited now, depending on where you are in the story.
- The Spirit Coin will restore 1% of mana now, instead of 5%.
- Cheat Items, that allow you to influence battle, have begun to be added
- Flashlight (Replaces Flash) is programmed in
- Bikes have been programmed in
- The party system now shows the sprites of the Pokemon
- Ghost types are now weak to Dark type moves, instead of resistant.
- Using potions from menu will have potion sound now.
As of Version .2
- The NULL effect should no longer exist. Instead PKMN will do 1 damage at least. EDIT: Null stills exists somehow. Working on it.
- The recruiter at the beginning will no longer take your Stolen Pokemon
- The prize exchange part of the Game Corner can now be entered after you've stolen 3 Pokemon.
- Gastly's speed is adjusted so it's no longer faster than Rattata.
- Gastly and Rattata's HP should be doubled now.
- Gastly can now learn Hypnosis, Confuse Ray, and Psychic by using certain skills the appropriate number of times.
- Lick has an animation now
- Antidote exists now
- Lockpick exists and unlocks doors
- The Kid!Recruit should now be wearing a Rocket Uniform.
- Type advantages/disadvantages exist now. Flying is super effective against bugs, etc.
- Adjusting the damage formulas for all the moves so that they have different strengths.
(basically, poison sting will no longer do the same damage as thunderbolt)

Known Problems
Pokemon Toxic Purple Rom
-In the 'Change Formation' menu it shows the Trainer icon you started with, not the Pokemon icon. Not sure how to fix this.
- Using the 'Bite' ability on a Gastly might glitch out the game. Haven't been able to recreate this yet. (Might be fixed as of .2.5?)
- Maxx, in front of Fuji's House, will glitch the game if you don't talk to him before going in.
- When using Bubble, the affected PKMN will have the antidote icon instead of a 'lowered speed' icon.
- There's no way to track how many times you've used a skill/how close you are to getting a new skill. I would like to fix this at some point.
- There may be some slowdown in the ATB bar in Silph Co. Not sure what's causing it right now.
EDIT: May only be encountered after reaching the 5th floor?? (I've unable to find this. )
- After fighting Gary in Silph Co. the battle music won't switch back to the normal battle bgm. (I forgot this one! Sorry! Still in 2.5!)
- Giving the Rocket guy a drink on the 2nd floor of the base, and then going downstairs, will trap you there.
- The police on the 7, 8, 9th floors of Silph can see through walls, and each other sometimes.
-If you are continuing a save file in ver .2.5, you may encounter a glitch when starting a Pokemon battle. There is a sign on the 1st floor of the Rocket base that will fix this for you.
- Ghost types are resistant to dark type/bite instead of weak to it. Fixed in .3.
- Route 3 (East of Pewter) may slow down your game.
-Any stat based moves (Agility, Defense Curl, etc.) may have mismatching symbols instead of +stat/-stat
-Using any item from the menu will cause the potion sound.
- Leaving through the South Saffron Gate on the way to Vermilion will freeze you. Should be fixed by next patch.
- The Beedrill in the Viridian Forest may 'run' from the battle. The battle will just stop a few turns in, without the Player winning.
(possibly only .2.6, unsure yet) impossible to learn Hyper Fang, Confuse Ray or Psychic. If scripted, Rattata can learn Confuse Ray, so maybe the count is wrong somehow??)
- People may get stuck when needing to deliver the package to Saffron City. This requires a Lockpick that they mysteriously will not have. Please check post 230 http://www.pokecommunity.com/showpost.php?p=8905546&postcount=230.
- Going to Rt. 4 may trigger the Redra conversation (if you didn't already see it) accidentally, and give you more mutagens.
- Funding Guy in Saffron isn't working correctly, making the Cinnabar PokeCenter quest impossible to complete.
