Desktop Taipei is a casual game that’s built to provide a few dozen Mahjong layouts for you to enjoy. If you like the original Chinese game, you’ll like what this digital version has to offer.

A simple design that's fitting for everyone

Desktop Taipei features simple graphics that don’t make it unappealing but rather plain. The main window of the game is split into three main sections, the toolbar, the game area, and a lower information bar.

In this Mahjong game, you have to do the same thing you do in all solitaire versions of it. Meaningly, you have to match tiles of the same kind to make them vanish from the board. Once you eliminate all of them, you win the round, and you can move on to the next one.

The gameplay to Desktop Taipei is easy to understand, and if you get stuck on something or don’t understand a particular feature from the GUI, the game offers decent documentation that explains everything.

A customizable game

Desktop Taipei enables you to change the background picture and color; you can swap between tilesets with different styles, as well as zoom in or out of the board. One thing that comes in handy in tough situations is the fact that you can opt to dim the blocked tiles. That proves extra helpful since the game is not in 3D and at times, tiles that can be matched are hard to spot.
